Alserkal Avenue – the region’s foremost arts hub – was established in 2007 to encourage and support the region’s burgeoning contemporary art scene. Our aim is to foster an organic and prolific creative community in the UAE.Situated in Dubai’s industrial quarter, the Avenue is a cluster of architect-designed warehouses. It is home to interspersed public spaces that bring together collaborators from diverse artistic disciplines; encouraging open dialogue, sharing of ideas and a collaborative work ethic that can see these creative ideas come to life.

Triumph Gallery was founded in 2006 by Emelyan Zakharov and Dmitry Khankin. The gallery focuses on contemporary art and works with major Russian and international artists. Among well-known Russian artists with whom the gallery works are AES+F, Alexander Brodsky, Vladimir Dubossarsky and Alexander Vinogradov, Alexei Beliayev-Guintovt and Recycle. In 2006 Triumph showed the work of one of today’s most famous artists, Damien Hirst, for the first time in Moscow. This was followed a year later by a solo show by Jake and Dinos Chapman.
Triumph Gallery supports young artists through its Launchpad project. Project Triumphoto shows work by photographers three times a year and the seasonal project Method brings together artists working in the same medium or with similar artistic approaches.

Solyanka VPA (video, performance & animation)

Founded in 1988 and located in a beautiful neoclassical building, the Solyanka State Gallery is just a five minute walk from the Kremlin. On display there are works by Russian classical artists, rare pieces from private collections and works by emerging young artists. Solyanka is an artist-run space that focuses on video, animation and performance art. The gallery is a host to the annual performance festival PYRFYR, has its own performance school and impressive educational projects.

ERARTA IS THE LARGEST PRIVATE MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART IN RUSSIA
Erarta Museum aims to discover, research, collect and popularize works of art created by talented contemporary artists of Russia. The museum collection provides an opportunity to see works of both renowned masters and inherently talented authentic artists who aren’t yet widely known but whose art is already on an outstanding level. Besides displaying its permanent collection in the left wing of the Erarta building in St. Petersburg, the museum is also engaged in exhibition projects, the main one being “Russia in Erarta”, which showcases works by talented artists from Russia’s various regions such as Perm, Krasnodar, Ufa, Novosibirsk and many others. Erarta’s activity is aimed at the widest audience and its goal is to make contemporary art an important part of as many people’s lives as possible and help those without any prior experience of contemporary art develop a passion for it. Founded in 2007 by Igor Markin, ART4 was Moscow’s first private museum of contemporary art to open in the city center. The museum houses an impressive collection of more than 1,000 works by major Russian artists such as Oleg Kulik, Vladislav Mamyshev Monroe, Ilya Kabakov and around 150 others. In December 2015 ART4 reinvented itself as “the museum that sells art” and half a year later launched an online auction site for contemporary Russian art. Even if you’re not interested in buying, the gallery is worth visiting: every month there is a new solo exhibition of one of the artists from its celebrated collection.
