Sazmanab 自2008年創立於伊朗德黑蘭,原是藝術家經營的計畫及進駐空間,現為一個策展平台,除了發起策展計畫,也藉由舉辦展覽、活動、教育計畫、工作坊、講座、出版品,以及邀請藝術家、策展人、研究員進駐,來協助推廣藝術作品。透過建立地方及國際關係,並開發多元當代藝術實踐及觀眾類型,致力支持、擴展伊朗及周邊地區對當代藝術和文化探討的知識、鑑賞及實踐能力。

Sazmanab is a curatorial platform which originally started as an artist-run project space and residency programme in Tehran in 2008. Sazmanab creates curatorial projects and supports artistic work in a wide range of media through exhibitions and events, residencies for artists, curators and researchers, educational initiatives, workshops, talks, and publications. By establishing local and international relationships, as well as diversifying both the practitioners and audiences of contemporary art, Sazmanab aims to support and expand the knowledge, appreciation and practice of contemporary arts and cultural discourses in Iran and the region.

Homa art gallery

In 2002, Etemad Gallery, was established in Tehran by Mina and Amir Hossein Etemad.
Mina Etemad, a pioneer of contemporary art in Iran, was amongst the first to join the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art. She was instrumental in helping to position Iran as one of the biggest collectors of western art during the 1970’s in the middle east.
The gallery is committed to raising the profile of Iranian contemporary art by featuring emerging and established artists. The works exhibited range from abstraction to figuration, with adherence to innovative techniques and aesthetic styles. Today, Iran’s emerging contemporary art scene challenges stereotypes of a society mired in tradition. Young avant-garde artists find inspiration in often complex and interwoven sub-cultures. These artists depict developments triggered by rapid urbanisation, globalisation and changes in demographics, while they address some conceptual themes like modernity, identity, femininity and violence.

A CURATORIAL LAB FOR INDIAN AND INTERNATIONAL EMERGING CURATORS
The Mumbai Art Room aims to become the space where the next generation of curators from India, as well as the next generation of international curators who meaningfully engage with India, can be mentored, nurtured, and supported at critical points in their career to grow as exhibition makers.Emerging curators are nominated by eminent practicing curators in India and abroad and are invited to submit proposals for the four exhibitions that the Mumbai Art Room hosts annually. They will benefit from remote mentoring from a newly formed Curatorial Advisory Committee, a leading group of academics and curators who will push the curator’s ideas and proposals to their furthest potential. These mentors for 2017-2018 are: Nancy Adajania (Mumbai-based cultural theorist and co-curator of 9th Gwangju Biennial), Anne Barlow (Director, Tate St. Ives), Lauren Cornell (Director, Graduate Program, and Chief Curator Hessel Museum of Art, Bard College, curator of 2015 New Museum Triennial), Iftikhar Dadi (Associate Professor, Department of History of Art, Cornell University), Koyo Kuouh (Artistic Founding Director, RAW Material Company, Curator of EVA International 2016), Dr. Devika Singh (Centre of South Asian Studies, University of Cambridge), as well as Mumbai Art Room Trustees Diana Campbell Betancourt (Artistic Director, Samdani Art Foundation, Chief Curator Dhaka Art Summit) and Susan Hapgood (Executive Director, International Studio and Curatorial Program).
HISTORY
Mumbai Art Room was founded in 2011 by Susan Hapgood and was registered officially as the Contemporary Arts Trust with the Charity Commissioner’s Office of the State of Maharashtra in 2012. It exhibits contemporary art, design, and visual culture from around the world and provides a non-commercial platform for artistic and curatorial practice, one that is experimental, educational, and as accessible as possible to all audiences.

Maraa: a Media & Arts Collective
We are a media and arts collective based in Bangalore and Delhi. Founded as a charitable public trust, our work is centred around a political yet creative practice across three domains – strengthening people-centric media platforms, democratising usage of urban public spaces and public discourse and preventing sexual violence against women and adolescents.
Our annual arts festival – October Jam aims to create sensuous spaces which provoke new imaginations and reflections. The festival brings together people from various backgrounds and disciplines.
